Introduction
Rallies

These are questions that maybe the church (pastors and believers) should think about. Can we agree that there are basically three types of believers?

  1. Non-Believers (they will spend eternity in the lake of fire)

    They:

    • Do not believe in God, Jesus or the Bible

    • Are not born again and are not baptized

    • Have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior

    • Do not honor nor obey God

  2. Luke-warm Believers (they live like the unbelievers and they will be spit out by God)

    They need to:

    • Recognize Sin

    • Repent of their Sins

    • Return to God

    • Rededicate their life to righteousness

    • Jesus says in Matthew 7:13-14: You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow road, it is difficult and only a few find it. He did not say: just repeat this prayer so that your name will be written in the book of life.

  3. Committed Believers (they will spend eternity in heaven)

    They:

    • Seek first the Kingdom of God

    • Place their Hope, Faith and Trust in God

    • Have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior

    • Try to live according to the bible

    • Ephesians 2:8 states that we are saved by grace through faith, but 1John 3:9 also states that no one who is born of God will continue to sin.

Here are some questions to think about?

    • Is the church in general heading towards God on the narrow road or is it on the wide road going away from God?

    • Is America, the country that was started by believers seeking religious freedom, being destroyed?

    • Are the blessings and favor America had going to end?

    • Do we still believe that God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and Satan exist?

    • Do we still believe in the entire bible and use it to guide our lives?

    • Do we have a close and personal relationship with God?

    • Deuteronomy 31:8 says “The LORD will never leave you nor forsake you.”

However, is it us that leaves God and forsakes Him?

    • Are we accepting sin in the name of love and tolerance?

    • Do we even realize that America is becoming immoral and anti-God?

    • We cannot be neutral; we are either with God or against God.

Which of these 3 choices are we doing?

      1. Are we conforming and following the crowd or

      2. Are we confronting and opposing our godless wicked culture or

      3. Are we just hiding in the closet?

What does the bible say about conforming and confronting?

    • Romans 12:2 says “Do not be conformed to this world”.

    • Matthew 18:15 says “If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately.”

    • Can we apply this same principle to God? If your brother sins against God, go and confront him.

Is the church teaching what is right or wrong?

Charles Finney, leader of the Second Great Awakening said the pulpits are responsible:

    • If there is a decay of conscience

    • If immorality prevails

    • If the press lacks moral discrimination

    • If the church is degenerate and worldly

    • If the world loses interest in religion

    • If Satan rules in our halls of legislation Does this still apply to today’s church?

Can Satan claim victory:

  1. when the church does not teach what sin is?

  2. when Christians are silent because they do not want to be accused of being legalistic?

How can Christians repent and return to God when they cannot even recognize they are sinning?

How can Christians repent when they are too busy pointing to the splinters in everyone else’s eyes that they do not see the log in their own eyes?

A very basic verse that is often quoted is John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Does this mean that we only need to believe that Jesus exists, Satan believes Jesus exists. Or does it mean that we need to believe in what Jesus said?

Things like:

Seek first the Kingdom of God and live righteously. Mat 6:33

You need to be born again. John 3:3

You must repent and turn to God. Mat 4:17

Keep the commandments. Mat 19:17

Make disciples and baptize them. Mat 28:19

Are we Christians in name only? Have we been misled? Do we have a false sense of salvation?

Are we lukewarm? Do we honor God with our lips but not our hearts or our money? Do we go through the motions without commitment? Is our name written in the book of life just because we repeated some words at the end of a service?

Are we like the church of Laodicea in Rev 3, that states the church was lukewarm and He would spit them out?

Are we like the church of Sardis in Rev 3, that states the church had fallen asleep and their actions did not meet the requirements of God?

Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

1John 1:8 says “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” Romans 2:16 says “The day is coming when God will judge everyone’s secret life.”

After we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and our name is written in the book of life, try to do what John 8:11 says “Go, and sin no more.”

We all know that we must love God and John 14:15 says “If you love me, obey my commandments.” We must also remember Psalms 34:9 that says “Fear the Lord” and

Proverbs 8:13 that says “All who fear the LORD will hate evil.”

Are we going to accept evil, tolerate evil, ignore evil or hate evil? Are we going to hide from evil?

Are we going to conform to evil? Are we going to confront evil?

All of our sins with the exception of blasphemy are forgiven by grace when we seek Almighty God and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our baptism represents that the old self is dead and all of our sins have been washed away and we are raised as a new person in Christ.

Are you born again and if you are, do you need to repent and return to God?

Are you going to publicly acknowledge Jesus so that He will acknowledge you before God in heaven? Do you fear God’s judgement and are you willing to do what is right in God’s eyes?

Should the church tolerate sin or should the church be outraged? Should we, as individuals, tolerate sin or be outraged?

Is this the time we need pastors to teach the bible, to warn us of current events similar in the bible and to lead us to evangelize outside the church?

Is this the time for us to get out of our comfort zone and to be a representative for God?

Is this the time we want to make the motto “One Nation Under God” a reality and not just a slogan. If we do not take action and become salt and light, who will?

We do not have the power individually to change anything, however, collectively we can change San Antonio and America. If God is for us, who can be against us.

Will you try to confront the evil that is overtaking our families, church, city and nation? Are we going to return to God willingly or desperately?

How do we start?

Pastors should lead us from the pulpit and from outside the church; but if they don’t,

we can boycott companies or products, we can elect godly politicians, we can evangelize to our family and friends, we can speak out in gatherings against things that offend God, we can help and support those that are trying to do something, and we can sow seeds with billboards by the highway.

Church attendance is declining, very few people watch Christian TV or listen to Christian radio. The best way to sow seeds and reach people that are never exposed to God or seldom think about God is by the use of billboards.

San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the nation, the highways in the city form a cross with IH 10 going from coast to coast and IH 35 going from border to border. At least one million travelers drive by each billboard every month. At least one billboard is within view 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This provides the best opportunity to sow seeds for a spiritual awakening. They are like lighthouses by the highway, leading travelers to God. Many travelers will see them whether they want to or not.

Isaiah 62:10 says “Prepare the highway for my people to return! Raise a banner for the people.” The Goal is to sow seeds for a Spiritual Awakening
